The Strohl Systems User Group Awards were presented in Orlando at the Strohl Systems International User Group Conference on March 18, 2008.

The third annual Strohl Systems User Group Awards were presented today in the categories of Most Effective BCP Organization and BCP Achievement during the Strohl Systems International User Group Conference. The company and individual were cited for outstanding performances and contributions to business continuity planning (BCP).

The 2008 award recipients are:

Click for large		Most Effective BCP Organization Award The Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) was honored for achievement in and commitment to the field of business continuity planning and for innovative and creative uses of Strohl Systems products or services. DFAS has developed a dynamic and viable BCP program that is used as a model for other government agencies and private industry. They also sponsor the Safety, Protection, Infrastructure, Recovery, Integration, Team (SPIRIT) program, which has trained over 12,000 DFAS employees to date on continuity of operations planning (COOP).
Click for large		BCP Achievement Award Mark Haimowitz, Director, Business Continuity Management of a telecommunications company, was honored for achievement in the business continuity profession. Haimowitz has been involved in BCP for over 20 years and has led organizational recovery efforts for the Northridge California Earthquake, Hurricanes Andrew and Hugo, Sept. 11, the 2003 Northeast Blackout and most recently Hurricane Katrina.

Each award recipient was presented with their awards in front of the nearly 600 business continuity professionals in attendance.

The peer-reviewed awards program is open to all organizations currently on active maintenance with any Strohl Systems product or service or who have used Strohl Systems consultants within the past year.
