Table Top Exercises Workshop
Christine Torres, Exelon Corporation
Testing is one of the most vital, yet overlooked components of BCP. If you haven’t tested your plans, how can you be sure it’s going to work when needed? Learn about all the details involved in successful table top exercises in this unique interactive workshop. Attendees will be called upon to roll up their sleeves and dive into this hands-on session to develop, create, and implement various testing scenarios. By walking through the entire process, from outlining the project scope and determining exercise format to debriefing participants and collecting data, you’ll walk away with the knowledge necessary to incorporate tests into a regular part of your BCP maintenance program.
Making LDRPS Easier for the End User
Strohl Systems Technical Advisory Group
What can you do if your end users – those who are responsible for the plans’ day-to-day upkeep and maintenance – balk at learning a new software program? The answer, says Strohl’s Technical Advisory Group (TAG), is to make LDRPS as foolproof and simple as possible for your end user to understand. In this power session, members of the TAG will explain how they’ve made planning and LDRPS easier for even the most technophobic coworkers. This informative panel discussion will focus on how to identify the concerns your users may have, provide real-life examples on how to ease users into the process, and explain some of the tips and tricks the TAG members have learned throughout the years.
Getting Back to Basics (Building Technical Plans Using LDRPS)
Alan McDowell, Williams Information Technology, Inc.
In its infancy, the BCP industry was mainly a vehicle to create recovery plans for a company’s Information Technology department. There’s good reason for that. In today’s world, technology is an integral part of every business. Without it could your business survive? It’s better not to find out. Take part in this session to learn how to build comprehensive technical continuity plans for your Information Technology department using LDRPS. What must be included to make your plan viable? What systems need to be included to ensure your business is recoverable? How can you be sure you’re not overlooking anything? Beginning with defining the project’s scope through collecting and implementing the data, McDowell will outline how best to build those technical plans your business relies on.
9.0 to 9.1 in a Web Hosted Environment (Migrating to LDRPS 9.1)
Kathleen Robbins, UnumProvident
Upgrading from LDRPS 9.0 to LDRPS 9.1 will give you a host of exciting new, powerful features. However, if you don’t plan correctly, this process can be more complex than necessary. The best way to resolve any issues, Kathy Robbins explains, is through pre-planning. Robbins will show attendees how careful preplanning by UnumProvident significantly simplified the entire conversion process. This session will review development of the project plan, and will explain the preplanning that needs to be done, what happens during the upgrade, and ways to make the process easier. Additionally, this session will outline the steps Robbins took to validate the data after the conversion and she’ll share the lessons she learned.
