Events: 2003 User Groups Conference: Key Note Address
Keynote: Sgt. Matt Eversmann
Monday, September 29
8:15 a.m.
Sgt.
Matt Eversmann is a testament to the true nature of war and heroism. He
is immortalized in the epic film Black Hawk Down, which tells the
heroic account of a group of elite U.S. soldiers sent into Mogadishu,
Somalia in 1993 as part of a U.N. peacekeeping operation. Young Rangers
and veteran Delta Force soldiers fought side-by-side, outnumbered and
surrounded, for 18 hours in the most hostile district of Mogadishu
until a rescue convoy was mounted to retrieve them. As a part of that
mission, both as a survivor and a hero, Eversmann brings to life the
courage of his plight and what he took from it, and assimilates his
real life experiences with the importance of preparedness and
leadership in BCP.
Keynote: The Passing Zone
Tuesday, September 30
1:15 p.m.
Take
two guys with chainsaws. Put them in tights, throw in a Garden Weasel,
and what do you get? Well, it’s kind of hard to explain, but they’re
called The Passing Zone, and they’re going to amaze you! The Passing
Zone transform themselves into a living metaphor for those who juggle
career, home and unending expectations as they themselves juggle the
most unlikely objects and dangle from bungee cords! One of the leading
entertainment duos in the nation, The Passing Zone have appeared on The
Tonight Show, NBC’s Today and Live with Regis and Kelly, and were
featured in The Addams Family movie. They hold five Guinness World
Records and have, literally, performed before the crowned heads of
Europe.
