Preparing for a Pandemic: An Interactive Simulated Exercise
Everyday we are reminded of the H5N1 influenza virus and its capability of igniting a global pandemic. Many planners have been preparing for this worst-case scenario, but with such an information overload, how can you be sure that your Business Continuity Program includes every necessary precaution?

Please join Strohl Systems for our half-day session, Preparing for a Pandemic, led by Senior Consultant, Lee Milligan. This complimentary meeting gives attendees a first-hand look at dealing with a pandemic situation by simulating approximately 48 hours of recovery time and allows you to become part of the recovery team to solve the unique challenges of a pandemic outbreak. Every attendee will be assigned to a recovery team responsible for completing specific tasks from the plan. Each team will be responsible for communication with other teams and the emergency operations center, as well a making critical recovery decisions.

What will be covered?

  • What additional "events" must be taken into consideration when planning for a pandemic?
  • How will your critical infrastructure hold up?
  • Although this simulation is focused on pandemic planning, valuable takeaways for all facets of BCP will be learned.

The simulation will be followed by a presentation on Business Resiliency and Recovery by Tod Stathis, Regional Executive with IBM's Global Technology Services group. Mr. Stathis will discuss how companies regularly face advancements in technology and the increasing dependency on technology to operate their business. Furthermore, unexpected events can seriously impact brand image, customer satisfaction, and financial stability. With all of these challenges, how can companies ensure they have an integrated business continuity plan that effectively addresses changing business requirements and unexpected events? Join us for this presentation to learn how your organization can plan for resiliency.

Who should attend?

  • Business continuity planners and managers
  • Human Resource personnel with business continuity planning responsibilities
  • Senior managers and BCP team leaders
  • Business continuity program administrators
